The Boys in Blue were here ii 31.1.2012

January 31, 2012

It was hot and humid down at Laman Street today and the boys in blue – Just. Doing. Their. Jobs. – had to sit and rest in the shade of some dangerous fig trees. A community member sent this photo. (more…)

NBN TV: DRAMATIC END TO FIG BATTLE

January 31, 2012

DRAMATIC END TO FIG BATTLE.

An enduring image – giving the council and security guys and police and ‘arborists’ cutting down trees the finger.

Karma will get them all.

The Police and machinery are in the street 31.1.2012

January 31, 2012

I just had a call to say it’s on.

Wonder if the Herald knew about this because their journalist told me yesterday they’d decided to start going down to the street as of this morning.

How proud Newcastle City Council wil be when this is over.

Gotta go. Home

Laughing Stocks 25.1.2012

January 25, 2012

The General Manager spent thousands of ratepayer dollars today to put a full-page ad on page 24 of the Herald today to tell the community that everything’s OK – Council is ‘very comfortable’ with how stupid it looks its four – oh, no: not four – reports on Laman Street, and to tell residents ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy: protest respectfully; we vandals are Just Doing Our Job’. LET RESIDENTS DECIDE THE FATE OF THE FIGS

January 24, 2012

LET RESIDENTS DECIDE THE FATE OF THE FIGS.

Lord Mayor John Tate will be discussing with the GM leaving the Laman St trees till the next election and taking the question of the future of the trees to the voters.

Cr Buman disagrees. Unsurprising.

He likes the idea of A Decision.

Any Decision.

Apparently it doesn’t matter if it’s the Wrong Decision. Doesn’t matter if new information comes to light.

If a decision is wrong in the beginning, it stays wrong.

Watch out for the day the community picket line forms.
