I’ve written to Council to ask whether a branch on this tree needs to be pruned.
The branch is wider than the tree is tall and it reminds me of the tree in the next street which had a major branch failure that possibly could have been prevented. I suppose when your council is focused on how to beat the community they’re not going to have time to check mature figs – as was the case then.
Happy to admit I could well be barking up the wrong tree…
I know the truth when I see it in relation to tree reports, but I don’t know much about tree physiology – which puts me on a par with Newcastle City Council, I suppose.
