We know where the dead wood is 24.8.2012 – Video

Thanks to my great friend from Islington who told me about the Troubles coming to Newcastle’s loveliest row of Moreton Bay figs.

She tells me that Newcastle City Council will start SEVERAL WEEKS of what they allege is removing dead wood from these trees.

As she said, we know where the dead wood is – and it ain’t on these trees.

Saving on fencing 11.6.2012

How weird is this flimsy fencing? Very un-Newcastle-City-Council. Beautiful tree, presumably committing the crime of standing at an angle. Over a seat.

And there are two items at the Public Voice committee at Council tomorrow  -12.6.2012 -worth hearing – the King Edward Park developer trying to remove the path that was agreed to (!) and a multi-storey development in Islington.

And thanks to a friend for this trip down memory lane: a reminder of how constructive a contribution Cr Buman makes. Not.

Islington – Ausgrid and NCC vandalism 2.5.2012

The poor tree in the photos below has been assaulted pruned by Ausgrid so much that it developed a crack in its base. That provided the excuse for Newcastle City Council to say it had to be felled. (more…)
